When it comes to the work environment, whether it be the job itself, the employees or employers, David Steinberg knows all about it. His observations and ideas about how a work environment should be are simple yet very aesthetically pleasing. If you read about it, it makes a lot of sense that you would wonder why you never thought of it in the first place.
So what is that he sees mirrors the work environment to? Here is an obvious clue: Hey guys, let us start a band! I can do the drums, Scott, you do the guitar, Megan on bass, Trevor keyboard, and we all do the vocals!
Yup! You read that right. Steinberg likened the work environment to a musical band. Complete with a band leader and bandmates, too.
Steinberg is the founder and CEO of Zeta Global (formerly Zeta Interactive and XL Marketing Corporation). Zeta Global is a data-driven marketing and CRM company. There is an integration of data, technology, and marketing services. They aim to help brands acquire, grow, and retain their customers.
Steinberg has also founded several other companies such as CAIVIS Acquisition Corporation (2007), and InPhonic (2000),
David Steinberg believes that leading a team of workers to their own and to their team’s greatness is equivalent to leading a band to their all-time high on stage. All members from both sides of the coin comprise of diverse goals and different personalities. But he notes, that if everyone acknowledges each other, and the leader pays attention to the group, then everything will be a success.
He sees the many similarities between corporate leaders and band leaders. However, there is a noticeable challenge in the corporate world. Even leaders are being critiqued.
When employees have a good and close relationship with their employers at work, there is a 50% rise in worker satisfaction. Mentorships, buddy programs, and even interdepartmental and lunch and learn opportunities can work its way around it.
When it comes to feedback, 51% of workers admit that hearing comments and constructive criticism would benefit them. Casual and private meetings with their boss would also be beneficial.
Benefits of the company should reflect on their values and cultures. Employees would be glad to know that their physical and mental health is a priority in their working environment. Paid time off also plays a major big role. If the company has no retirement plan then financial aids will also a big help.
The outcome of that will be, that if the management and the employees help one another in improving their jobs as well as gives out feedback of quality, then the workers will be pleased and the company will have better chances with keeping their employees.
